Hey there everyone.
I’m sorry for the lack of updates. In the work world, things have been a mess… And kind of throwing off my real world groove.
However, as of last week, so far, so good. I’ve been working on one project or another every day for the past week. Unfortunately most postings will have to wait until after Christmas (I know, that makes me sound like I’m telling the truth).
Once I get a photo of the book I sold to my boss, I’ll post that up for you.
I think that sounds like a decent compromise.
Stab binding. I like it. I think it’s cute. And I think it’s perfect for what I want to do.
Print books.
I had mentioned before that Terry Foreman from the Newark Arts Alliance had clued me into the idea of art books.
I thought to myself, that definitely sounds fun, and I happen to have 5×7 sheets of recycled paper. What a perfect opportunity to make some books with prints. One of a kind books, eh?
Also, for your viewing pleasure, a super sweet retro-style book!
S0,
I’ve finished another book as a gift for my supervisor’s wife and already I’ve got a request for another. I’m kind of in love with the book cloth!
Also, my friend Laura and I have started a little crafty night, hopefully that’ll lead to a nice collab between the two of us – her frankenstein creations and my books. Hello!
Also, while I was at the Harvest Arts Festival, Terry Foreman was telling me about art books – a concept that I’m pretty intrigued by. One of a kind books. I’d love to start making some.
After a year and a half, I finally finished my first book!
Since then, I’ve completed 4 more and I’m working on a fifth.
Here are some photos of the newer ones.
After all my complaining about the weather, my two vacation days I had to complete most of my printing (when I had a month to prepare) and a whole bunch of mat cutting, this was what I had to show for the Harvest Arts Festival on Saturday.
If there’s anything that strikes your fancy, shoot me a message and we’ll see about getting it to you! Read more »
