So, NaNoWriMo caused a little bit of a back-up. Clearly.
Now, I’m playing catch-up again and I think I can handle it. I spent the weekend working on some Christmas Cards for my aunt and I’m just about to pick them up from Staples, so I’ll have a picture of them up tonight.
I’ll also be working on all of my California photos and posting them. They should be finished just about before Christmas. I’ve also got another project – but that ones a secret.
I’m also planning on re-doing the portfolios once again. Lots and lots of new stuff. Hopefully I’ll get to take some new stuff as well.
I’m also starting with a new position, so I’m going back into education at work and I’m once again going to back on 8-5 M-F for the rest of the month.
So, I realize that I’ve been entirely neglectful on the web site here, but that’s not to say that I haven’t been busy behind the scenes. While I was on vacation in San Francisco, I managed to take about 800 photos – which I’ve finally sorted through and chosen which ones to edit and post. The last night I was there, I also went to a show and shot about 150 of Strength, The Octopus Project and Starfucker – which I’ve also got to edit and post.
Unfortunately, November’s going to be a little bit slow with photos since I’ve signed myself up for NaNoWriMo. And hopefully I can take down that. I’ll be posting a synopsis later on next week.
Last week, while trying to catch up on sleep and jetlag, I managed to finish editing the photos from Bonnie and Will’s wedding. And on Sunday, I shot a small Halloween wedding, which I just finished editing the photos this morning. I should be able to get a few of them up tonight after work.
Afterwards, I’ll be straggling along with the San Francisco & Cabzzz&Rezzz Reunion photos. And possibly a few from the Hanson concert I’ll be hitting up next Saturday. Right now, I’ve just got to stay focused on everything else that’s right in front of me (like the 5,000 words that I’m behind on for my novel!).
Until tonight… until tonight!

Today was grueling. After a three week vacation, frolicking and playing around on my own time, I had to buckle down and get up at 6:30 in order to ready myself for my first 8 a.m. shift at my brand new job.
I’m working as a Claims Aversion Representative and just endured the first of a 3 week training course. I was brought back to the days of college lectures and actually having to do things during the day. It’ll be interesting.
Anyhoo, because of my brand new job, my posts may or may not be a bit more sporadic than normal.
Today’s prints I wasn’t entirely satisfied with. Maybe I was a little speedy with them. Maybe the chemicals were a bit off. Either way, next time, I’ll conquer them for sure. I was starting to work on the cards that I’m considering selling. This set was routed in the abandoned amusement park that Kerri and I found.
It feels good to get back into doing some work after being sick and all the updating on the website. A few weeks ago, Kerri visited and we actually managed to get some work done. Now she lives in State College, PA (and has access to a darkroom, which means I have to go and visit her regularly). I played model for some of her grad school work. I want to see it – even though it was a little awkward having photos taken of me not acting like a jerk. It was kind of fun, too.
It’s been a while since I’ve taken any photos. I’m itching to get out soon and I’m planning a trip back to the amusement park soon, actually. Unfortunately, Kerri has my flash. That blows, but it also means that I get to experiment with new ways of lighting things. I can’t complain. Although, I do need people to come play with me. Any takers?
So, I’m still working out this what I like to shoot things – or rather, how I like to shoot people. I say this because I generally wouldn’t think of using people as a subject last year. Now they’re kind of fun. Sometimes. But not in the studio portrait or general portrait sense. I’m kind of over that after a year of it. I feel like I’ve got better things to do. The new adventure is how might I want to incorporate people into what I do.
Cards up later tonight.

updates
I’ve been saying I’ll be updating a lot more.
There have been a lot of photos that I’ve taken that have barely made it out of my camera. Tonight, not only have I uploaded the photos, but I’ve re-organized all of my photos from 2004 and have started to narrow down those that will be seen. After I watermark them, there’ll be quite a few updates from me.
Can I get an amen?
