Tomorrow I’ll be shooting my cousins. I’m taking them to some ruins by my mom’s house and I’m looking forward to it. It’ll be pretty fun. I think it’ll give me the chance to play with some different techniques – plus I’ll be able to get some nice sibling pics. That’s not something I got to do a whole lot of at the portrait studio (especially teenagers). It’ll also give me a chance to explore the location – which I haven’t gotten a chance to do since the first Diana/Holga adventure with Kerri. Mine didn’t come out, so here are a few of Kerri’s.

I’m thinking a Diana redemption tomorrow!!
This assignment I’ve given myself is pretty similar to one of my assignments from Nancy‘s class.
The project? Straight and Bent: A Portrait Project. The goal of the assignment was to create five portraits that looked like they were all taken by different photographers.
I went a bit overboard, but I had a lot of fun.
First I shot my brother, but his photos didn’t turn out so well.
My friend Carrie Bodwell was the final subject and the photos turned out pretty awesome.
You may have seen these already in my Film page but here are my final photos.
Bent – Printed through a paper towel
Bent – Solarized
Straight

Do you think I succeeded in the assignment?

Over the weekend, the transparencies I needed to try out cyanotypes with enlarged negatives. It was cloudy out, but I tried making a few more today. I was really excited to try them and the results came out pretty well considering my limited sunlight. I’m also starting to becoming more aware of how the chemicals react.
Here are the results.

In other news, Kerri’s coming down this weekend! There will definitely be a lot of updates afterwards.

Second set! Tomorrow’s the last day of a 6-day work run. So glad for that to be over. Perhaps Monday will be a great day in the name of photo.

By the way, for a little background… These were taken with a little panoramic camera I got for Christmas. These were taken in February after the second big snow storm in Delaware. Obviously, these were taken quite a bit after the storm, when roads were navigate-able and the snow was melted enough to allow adventures and exploration.
Most of these were taken in Elkton, Maryland. Others were taken around Brandywine and Talleyville, Delaware.
