It was unusually quiet on the bus that afternoon, for the man who smoked cigars seemed to be missing. The old women in the front whispered to themselves but nothing made it beyond the young doctor who was listening to the same song as the mohawked skateboarder sitting in the back seat.
Doctors and nurses fluttered around as Ruth sat quite still waiting for some attention. She squinted at the white walls and wished the hysterical family next to her would find a corner and hoped that this time the bill would be worth it.
This last week has been hectic. I’ve got to catch up on my sentences. Hopefully tonight, I’ll be starting on a new exercise.
